I joined the Eanes family in January 2012 when the Elementary Student Support Counselor position was created through a Department of Education Grant for Safe and Drug Free Schools. During my time at EISD, I have worked at Eanes, Forest Trail, Barton Creek and Bridge Point. I am excited for the 2017-18 school year where I will be starting by 3rd year at BCE and my second year at BPE. I am proud to be Blue Jay and a Bob Cat!
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. I then went on to complete my Master of Science in Social Work, also at UT-Austin... Hook 'em. In 2008, I completed my certification to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I came to the Eanes ISD community with 9 years experience of working in schools. In December 2011, I wrapped up over 7 years at Kealing Middle School in Austin ISD. During my time at Kealing, I worked through Communities in Schools of Central Texas to provide individual counseling, group support and family involvement support to the Kealing neighborhood community. Prior to working at Kealing, I worked as an MSSW Intern at Laurel Mountain Elementary in Round Rock ISD and then at Lanier High School, again through Communities in Schools.
I am Native Texan, born and raised in Abilene, but have lived here long enough to call Austin "my hometown". I am the proud Aunt to thirteen nieces and nephews. They are kind enough to be my practice audience for many classroom guidance lessons and book readings! I am also passionate about issues facing high risk youth and enjoy spending time volunteering with various drop-out prevention programs. I love spending time with my family and friends, working out, reading and traveling.
